Post subject: Removing windows?
Ok so in getting ready for body work and painting I will need to remove the windscreen, sunroof and hatch glass.

So what is the best way to remove these?

Carefully. Razz

Remove the chrome strips, carefully cut the rubber out so you can remove the glass, get the glass put back in with a new rubber kit.

DON'T BREAK THE HATCH GLASS!!!

Maybe check that you can you get a replacement seal for the sunroof before you cut it up.

EDIT. Nevermind, just saw that you are hunting for a roof.

Hitching a ride on this tread, Im going to have to pull my front glass out too at some stage, So the rubber around glass is that a universal length/profile that any auto glass place would cut to size. Or will i have to hunt down specific shape for the 260??

i think specific. it is wierd shape.

Rare spares on south road have the rubbers some $140+ last time i checked. these are the ones that u can return the chrome lock bits back inside.

though one of my glass fitters said ( wgen he was reffiting th eglass back on the Z) he could get me front one to suit but the stock locking trim cant be used for some $80. so its still car specific but an aftermarket option.

same goes for rear.

i prob should ask again that was some 3+ years ago when i asked him about it.

if interested ill give him a call and see what he has.

i got new hatch weather seal for rare spares, pritty expensive for what it is.
My front glass has to come out, the rubber is slightly raise in a section so there is prob rust underneath.
